I have a 24W LED oyster in service. The luminaire was purchased complete on eBay for about $45.
It regularly fails, usually the LED driver fails, usually due to failure of the output filter capacitor.
I purchased a driver shown above to test with a view to buying several for stock.
Above is a current measurement with the driver on test. It is rated for 300mA +-5% but makes only 229mA, -34%.
I have never measured one of these type of LED drivers that exceeds specification, and most fail to meet specification so grossly that I get refunds (as in this case).
