Crystal substitute using si5351 – part 2 gave details of test of a Si5351 module using Buspirate v5. This article gives the same example using Buspirate v6 which has improved logic analyser capability.
Above is the Buspirate 6 with the Si5351 module.
The Buspirate supports several modes of logic analyser, the two shown here are:
- Pulseview using SUMP; and
- Follow Along Logic Analyser (FALA) which shows the logic trace on the terminal screen.
Pulseview using SUMP
This does not require any physical connections beyond the USB cable seen in the pic above, the USB device presented in a composite device and includes two serial ports, one use by the terminal emulator (eg Teraterm) and a binary port used for the SUMP connection to Pulseview, all very convenient.
Above is a capture and decode of the full programming stream as detailed at Crystal substitute using si5351 – part 2.
Above is a zoomed in view of the end of the stream.
FALA
Above is the FALA display, scrolled to the end of the stream.
(There is also a mode using FALA and Pulseview.)
