QRP2000 Synthesiser

This article documents my build of the QRP2000 Synthesiser kit.

Except for the Si570 chip, all surface mount components were fitted using solder cream and hot air. The Si570 and all topside components were soldered with a soldering iron.

After assembly, the board was cleaned and the bottom side coated with acrylic PCB lacquer.

The chip used was a 'C' series chip (LVDS output) which has better temperature stability than the cheaper 'B' series chip. Initial testing at 10MHz suggests the stability of about 1.2Hz/°C is achieved. The crystal seems to be stable medium term, ie negligible aging.
